▶ TODAY — "I AM 32" NEW!

Woke up. Was 32. Did not consent to this.

My brother got me a website for my birthday. Not a gift card. Not a shirt. A website. With my name on it. I don't know whether to be touched or concerned, so I've settled on both.

He also appears to have written my blog for me, which is either very thoughtful or a hostage situation.

▶ LAST WEEK — "restringing"

Told myself I'd restring the acoustic today. Did not. Instead I watched forty minutes of a man on the internet restring an acoustic. Feel like I've made progress.

▶ SOME TIME AGO — "on the subject of Hank"

Hank did something incredible today. I won't say what. You had to be there.

▶ EARLIER — "gear acquisition syndrome (GAS): a defence"

People act like buying instruments is a problem. Counterpoint: I have never once regretted buying a guitar. I have regretted selling one. Therefore, logically, the only mistake available to me is not buying enough guitars.

I have run this argument past several people. Nobody has beaten it yet. A few have left the room, which I'm counting as a win.
